The Cadet Corps Drumline was founded by Lester Dixon (Campus Director) in August 2001. Originally designed as an afterschool program for Chipman Middle School students, the Corps has expanded to include elementary school and high school students from Alameda as well as other parts of the Bay Area. Respect is the primary foundations of the Corps. The youth are the instructors, with their motto being: "Each one, teach one".
They have participated in parades, competitions and performances in Chicago, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and local Bay Area Cities. After 10 years with the School District , the Corps joined the Alameda Boys & Girls Club (fiscal /non-profit agency) currently our new headquarters is located in a school portable near the Boys & Girls Club.
